Ultrasound Technician Program

ULTRASOUND

ULTRASOUND TECHNICIAN: This is a 1-year program. After completion of the program students will be ready to sit for the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers’ Exam which will qualify them to become Registered Sonographers. The program is designed to prepare students to perform diagnostic ultrasound (general and vascular) for interpretation by the physician, and this duty is at a level of a physician assistant.

The curriculum which is up to the standard set by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine covers ultrasound physics, Instrumentation, Abdomen and small parts, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gray Scale, Vascular Ultrasound and color flow Doppler. Apart from classroom lectures there are also laboratory demonstrations, practice sessions and case study. There will also be off campus clinical experience in a hospital or doctor’s office for a real-life practical exposure.
